How does claires pierce cartilage

Go somewhere else anywhere but there. I didn't like Claire's too much either. What about piercing pagoda? Claire's is rubbish! I got mine done at a beauticians in a back room so no-one could see me the ones in Claire's are right in front of the window! Mine didn't get infected and I paid a set price for the piercing, earring and cleaning set which came to about 7 pounds. People I know who've gone to Claire's have had infections and all sorts. For a cartilage piercing you are technically supposed to have the piercer use an actual needle and not a gun.

Like Brandy S said you should go to a place that actually uses a needle. When you use a piercing gun it can cause the cartilage to collapse. I agree with Amanda L. I got my ears pierced at piercing pagoda. They were very good! I don't have my cartilage, but I have three holes.

The first two were from Piercing Pagoda, and the third from Claire's. My second done at Piercing Pagoda is pretty messed up.

One is a lot lower than the other and it's noticeable. I just deal with it though. I was really pleased with my third from Claire's. However, I don't think where you get it done has anything to do with it. It's WHO pierces it. But for your cartilage, I would lean towards Pagoda because I feel they'd be better with cartilages.

At both, you pay only for the cost of the earrings. And just a tip, ask them to show you where they place the marker, that way if it's not where you want it they can move it.

I had mine done at piercing pagoda and it went really well: I wouldn't suggest going to Claire's. Go to a proper jewelry store, one that sells gold jewelry. I got mine done at claire's it looked fine and didnt hurt much. It was about 50 dollars. I hated it after a few months and let it close up though. Claire's and the piercing pagoda told me they weren't allowed to do cartilage piercings. Piercing pagoda actually gave me a hard time when I got my third hole done because it was close to my cartilage.

I ended up getting my tragus pierced at a tattoo shop which also happened to be in the mall haha , an it turned out really well. I'd recommend a shop because they use a needle instead of a gun, and apparently guns can like shatter your cartilage.

It's a much better idea going to a professional tattoo and piercing shop for a cartilage piercing. I agree with amanda L.

If you think your piercing has healed but aren't totally sure, consult with your piercing professional. Obviously, right? Well, it's not quite as simple as soap and water. Cartilage piercings require a saline solution , which your piercer may provide, or you can purchase one at a drugstore but avoid contact solution.

Gently clean each side of your piercing with the saline solution and a cotton ball or pad twice a day, and follow any additional instructions your piercer may have provided you with.

You obviously love your new cartilage piercing. Unfortunately, your body may not. This can happen for a few reasons: allergies to the type of metal in your jewelry nickel is a prevalent allergen for many people, which is why titanium jewelry is optimal, as it is essentially nickel-free , incorrect piercing placement, infection, or migration. There is also a condition known as hypertrophic scarring, which cartilage piercings are relatively prone to.

According to a study from the National Center for Biotechnology Information , cartilage and nasal piercings have the highest rate of infection among body piercings.

Proper care and monitoring of the healing process are essential. If your piercing site develops a bump, begins to move toward the edge of your cartilage, or is showing signs of infection, contact your piercer, or go back in to have the site assessed as soon as possible. The scarring can be stopped if identified quickly. However, if your piercing is migrating, it may need to be removed, and infections need to be dealt with immediately to prevent septicemia aka blood poisoning from bacteria.

A professional piercer will best be able to help you address both of those potential scenarios. If you experience rash, fever, intense pain, or vomiting, in addition to the complications listed above, visit an emergency room. You made it through few sleepless nights okay, maybe a lot of sleepless nights , dull aches, and a rigid cleaning schedule, you've gone four to 18 months without any real issue, and now your cartilage piercing is healed.

You're probably feeling pretty accomplished as you should be, this is a rite of passage , and more than a little proud of your new piercing. You might find yourself pushing your hair back from your ear a bit more frequently, and searching salons and the internet for all sorts of shimmery new titanium jewelry. Preslar D, Borger J.
