He begins to kiss her neck, but then bites her neck because of his sire bond to Klaus, even though he didn't mean to.

He begins freaking out and she yells at him to leave her alone, so he goes away. Once Matt brings her home Klaus comes and heals her bite. He and Caroline meet again in the woods after a long time apart- and end up having sex in the Lockwood Celler. Upon returning to Mystic Falls, Caroline informs Tyler that once an Original dies, it's entire bloodline dies along with it.

Tyler is extremely distressed- after Caroline tells him that if Rose, Katherine, Damon, Stefan and her own bloodline was not originated from Klaus, then they were all going to kill him. However, Caroline informs him that she just got him back, and she is not loosing him again. He finds one of Klaus's arts on Caroline's table, he gets furious and leaves her place. Caroline and Tyler dancing. Tyler shows up at the dance determined to make up Caroline's mind about him, and he and Caroline dance together until Klaus shows up.

Although Tyler has broken his sire bond, he and Caroline do not want Klaus to know that. He voluntarily steps aside so to let Klaus dance with her. Klaus informs Caroline he is leaving, and tells her they both know she is not up for coming with him. He walks away without saying another word. He helps Damon and Stefan "temporarily" kill Klaus.

Later Tyler and Caroline are celebrating with others the supposed death of Klaus. Tyler promises Caroline that he will take care of her and later on, she rushes to the Lockwood cellar, crying because Klaus is assumed dead and Tyler will die as well, being sired to him.

Unknown to her, Tyler has been possessed by Klaus because of Bonnie's spell. In Growing Pains , Caroline, who was supposed to be away from Mystic Falls but stuck around because she didn't know where to go without Tyler gets captured by Pastor Young and the deputies.

Klaus, who was in Tyler's body rescues her, and she is overjoyed and surprised when she sees that "Tyler" is alive. In Memorial , Tyler is in his bed having sex with Caroline, who feels bad because they are having sex in spite of all the tragedies going on, Tyler says that if they stopped having sex every time somebody died in the town they'd explode. A few minutes later Connor comes to Tyler's house and shoots him as soon as he finds out that Tyler is a vampire, attempting to kill him.

However,Tyler, not being a regular vampire survives and escapes. At the sight of all the blood on the floor, Caroline gets very scared for Tyler.

A the council's funeral, Caroline tells Stefan that if the hunter hurt again Tyler she'll kick his ass. She does everything to keep Tyler safe.

In The Killer , Caroline is at the Lockwood Mansion, informing that her mother has squad cars blocking the street. She first meets Hayley there. She finds out that Hayley has been staying there for the past few days, and that she's Tyler's friend. Caroline gets instantly jealous, especially after she overhears a phone conversation between Klaus and Tyler in which Klaus tells about Tyler having cheated on her.

When Hayley and Tyler comfort each other over the death of their hybrid friend Dean, Caroline wants to know the truth. Caroline confronts Tyler, who explains that Hayley and him never hooked up, but are trying to make Klaus thinking that they did to hide the fact that they're progressively unsiring all of his hybrids and Caroline understands.

Tyler seems to have forgiven Caroline, for he only wants to get rid of Klaus now. Caroline suggests they use Rebekah's body instead, an idea Tyler loves, although Hayley doesn't let them do this.

Tyler says, "You're a genius, I love you," to which Caroline replies, "I love you, even when I hate you. Tyler arrived, and Rebekah told them all to stay in the building and not vamp run in the hallway. She compelled Tyler to turn into a werewolf. Now that she had Shane, she didn't need them.

They were just competition, and whoever finds the Cure first gets to decide how to use it. Later, she found Tyler in the gym, lying naked in the fetal position in front of his mother's makeshift memorial. She held him as he broke down and apologized. Klaus tried to say they were even—Tyler's mother's dead, his brother's dead—so they should tell Bonnie to let him out.

But Caroline, remembering Aunt Jenna was also among Klaus' death toll, said she'd never help him and that he wasn't even worth the calories she burns talking to him. That's when Klaus impaled her with the other end of a lamp, pulled her to him, and bit her. Caroline and Tyler Later, Klaus made Tyler beg for him to give Caroline his blood to save her, and then he refused to do it even if Tyler became his slave again in exchange.

Tyler leaves Caroline on the floor Eventually, Tyler came up with a plan: Knowing that Klaus does care about her, Tyler took her back to him so he'd have to watch her die if he didn't want to help her.

Caroline got Jeremy's tattoo pictures from Rebekah in order to solve the puzzle in the sword and she said Klaus can help if he wants. Klaus said that magic of Internet wont be enough to solve the cryptex. Caroline didn't understand meaning from Hunter's mark and the language written means. Later Klaus helped her by translating in Aramaic Language which neither Tyler or Caroline understood.

Caroline and Tyler say goodbye Later, Caroline begged Klaus for Tyler's freedom and said for her to stop looking for Tyler. Klaus said her Tyler has to leave town out if his sight, far away from him. Caroline told Tyler by voice mail that Jeremy died. Letter of Tyler to Caroline In Bring It On , Caroline continues to leave him voicemails, stating that she hopes that if she leaves enough of them, when Tyler comes back he'll be all caught up, then it will be like he never left.

However, at the end of the episode, Matt asks Caroline to come over to Tyler's house, and reveals that he left the deed to his house in Matt's name, in order to provide a safe haven for her that Klaus can't reach. Reading the letter Tyler left for her, Caroline realizes that he is not actually going to come back, and she begins to break down into tears.

Tyler and Caroline danced their last dance, and he thought he could sneak out before anyone saw him. Kiss goodbye Klaus was on the porch waiting to ask if it was worth it to give Caroline the night of her dreams. In the shared interest of not ruining Caroline's evening, Klaus gave Tyler a five-second head start and Tyler disappeared.

She is also preparing everything for his arrival; since she assumes he will soon join to her, Bonnie and Elena at college. But later, Caroline receives a voice mail from Tyler which tells her that he can't return with her because he is still helping a pack of wolves in Tennessee, and she begins to cry sadly.

I put a lot of thought into this and decided to defer school for now. This werewolf pack I'm helping, they need me. I know it's lame to do this over the phone, but I figure this way's harder for you to kill me. I'm really, really sorry, Care, but this is important.

Although Tyler and Caroline have broken up, they remain good friends this season. Tyler forgives her, and jokingly tells her that getting tortured by his ex and her new boyfriend is never good for the ego, as she quickly responds that Stefan is not her boyfriend.

He tells her that he can't keep up with her and Stefan, and she apologizes again. He tells her that she's good. Liv interrupts them and Caroline leaves to make drinks. When she comes back, Liv is gone, and asks Tyler what he did. He tells her that he didn't do anything, but Caroline doesn't believe him. She tells him that he should work out his problems with Liv, but he gets defensive and tells Caroline that she shouldn't be giving him relationship advice considering all of her "Stefan-drama.

Tyler : Sounds like a plan. You're gonna have to do a little better than sorry. She's an insecure, neurotic, bitchy little twit. But the girl's got heart.

She means well. You've just got to take the good with the bad sometimes. I'll deal with him. I don't want him involved in any of this. I did this. I killed her. You don't know what that means. Tyler : No, you don't, Caroline. He looks at his wound. It's healed Tyler : How did you…? Tyler : You lied to me earlier. I get it, it was very traumatic. Tyler : You're lying. She leaves but he catches her arm Tyler : Hey!

She twists his arm and throws him on the floor. He gets up Tyler : How did you… you're stronger than me? Tyler : Listen, if you know something you've got to tell me because I can't handle this.

He looks at her and leaves. He shots in garbage but he's so strong that the garbage falls into a car. Everyone looks at him. Tyler : I know. That move will win you an award. Tyler : Go ahead.

Keep dodging, keep changing the subject But I know. You're just like me. Aren't you? Tyler : Keep it up but I'm not buying it. I saw how strong you were. I'm not leaving here until you tell me the truth. Tyler : You're a werewolf. Say it. Tyler takes her by the shoulders and pushes her up against the wall Tyler : Stop lying! Tyler hits the wall next to Caroline's head causing a framed picture to fall off the wall Tyler : Just say it!

Caroline grabs Tyler and spins him into the adjacent wall. She places her hand around his neck and reveals her vampire face. She throws him down onto the floor.

You know, with all that inside jittery stuff. Tyler : I'm hot. It's like my skin is on fire. I never had any of that. I guess wolves are different. Everything was heightened. Tyler : I have that. How can you be a vampire? Tyler : Who else is like you? It's a really long story we can share another time. How many other werewolves are there?

Tyler : Just me. And my uncle Mason , but he left town. Not about you, not about me. No one would understand. This is life and death, Tyler. Tyler : I have no one else to tell. I'm sorry about earlier.

It's just, I'm alone with this. It's gonna happen to me. In the next full moon, I'm gonna turn and I won't be able to stop it. No, it's You realize there's almost a full moon? Tyler : Vampires don't have enough problems, you want to take on mine?

The whole Do you know what you're gonna do? Tyler : I have a plan. Tyler : Kind of private. And you're really gonna turn down my help? Tyler and Caroline walk through the woods towards the Lockwood Cellar Tyler : Matt's bumming pretty hard.

Caroline follows behind Tyler. Tyler turns on a flashlight as they enter the Cellar and moves the beam of light around the room Tyler : I'm guessing this is where Mason was headed the night he turned.

It's this way. Tyler : Mason bolted before I triggered the curse, but I found these. Tyler shines the beam of light at a part of the cave. Caroline walks into the Cellar and looks at where the beam of light has landed. They look old. Tyler shines the light further down the wall at a pair of rusty chains Tyler : And these bolts and chains. I need new chains, but the bolts could still hold. Tyler grabs the ring around the bolt and pulls it hard, showing Caroline how resistant they are Tyler : I think that's what this place was used for.

Full moons. Caroline and Tyler proceed to glance around the cave. Caroline grabs an item wrapped in a piece of cloth and walks back over to Tyler Tyler : I have no idea. Caroline unwraps the cloth around what appears to be a journal. Tyler takes the journal from her and flips through the pages.

He stops at a page and begins to read out loud from it Tyler : "August 31 -- My body is changing. I'm edgy, angry, impatient. I get so mad, I black out and forget what I say or do. I'm not myself, not since Jimmy's death. What's happening to me? Tyler flips the page and sees a memory stick taped to the page of the journal. He slides it out of its place and holds it in his hand, looking at it and then up at Caroline.

Both of them look puzzled Caroline and Tyler are sitting on a couch in the living room. Tyler has his laptop out and he inserts the memory card into the flashdrive. A video starts to play Mason : "It's September 15 -- 2 hours from the first full moon since I triggered the curse" Tyler : He taped his first transformation. Tyler pauses the video and looks at Caroline. He has formulated a theory about Klaus and Hayley's baby.

But TO stayed in for the remainder of the season. Tyler had died early season 8 before Christmas so it was somewhere around late October-November? Once there, Klaus force-fed Tyler his blood and snapped his neck, which killed him and put him in transition to become a hybrid in order to motivate Elena and the rest of the Mystic Falls Gang to figure out why none of the hybrids Klaus had turned were surviving their transitions.

The official cause of death was accidental drowning related to how much she drank, but Elizabeth Forbes and Rudy Hopkins know that it was murder. Only Tyler and his friends are aware of the fact that it was Klaus who killed her.

A memorial was held for her in After School Special. Tyler eventually falls in love with Caroline, but when Jules, another werewolf, comes to town and tells Tyler that Caroline and two other vampires, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, are responsible for his uncle's death, Tyler feels betrayed. Tyler wants Klaus dead because he killed his mother and Hayley kind of had something to do with that because she spoiled Tyler's plans back when he first tried to go after Klaus with a bunch of hybrids.

Tyler's there to seek revenge and he has a plan and he's there to execute it. After Klaus was killed , Caroline races to the cellar, wanting to catch Tyler before he died. She is then despaired when she believes he has already died.

However Klaus in Tyler's body comes in and tells Caroline he was just with Bonnie. She then informs him that Klaus is dead. Tyler did return, but only for a few brief moments. To prove that he had his humanity switched off and there was no saving him, Damon killed Tyler , just as Tyler returned to town. There was hope that he would be saved, but it was soon clear that it was too late.

Why do Caroline and Tyler break up?
